Kitab Jala’ al-‘Uqul fi ‘Ilm al-Usul is an eighteen-chapter theological work listed among Ibn Kabar’s writings, treating Christian doctrines including divine unity, the Trinity, and the Incarnation.[^1]

## Contents and attribution

*Kitab Jala’ al-‘Uqul fi ‘Ilm al-Usul* is listed among Ibn Kabar’s writings. It comprises eighteen chapters addressing theological questions and providing a detailed account of Christian beliefs, including the oneness of the Godhead, the Trinity, and the Incarnation.[^1]

## Relationship to Tiryaq al-‘Uqul

The work is sometimes identified with a similar text entitled *Tiryaq al-‘Uqul fi ‘Ilm al-Usul*, which is attributed to Ibn al-‘Assal and also associated with Butrus al-Sadamanti.[^2]

A separate entry, however, attributes *Tiryaq al-‘Uqul* to the thirteenth-century physician, priest, and author Abu al-Khayr al-Rashid ibn al-Tayyib. It describes a principal dogmatic section of twenty-four chapters and a second part explaining and defending Christian morality.[^3] That entry also states that al-Mu‘taman Abu Ishaq ibn al-‘Assal incorporated an excerpt from the *Tiryaq* into his *Majmu‘ Usul al-Din*.[^4]
